Final Flight of the PH-PBA Douglas DC-3 Dakota at Lelystad Airport

August 25, 2024 | Today, the PH-PBA Douglas DC-3 Dakota of DDA Classic Airlines made its final sightseeing flights from Lelystad Airport.

After an impressive 80-year history, we bid farewell to passenger flights with this beautiful historic aircraft. The fact that this aircraft is a true historical icon is also evident from its operations during the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. During those intense weeks, the DC-3 flew paratroopers to their destinations, provided essential supplies, and even towed a glider.

In September, a few farewell flights will still take place from Schiphol and Rotterdam, but the final flights from Lelystad have now been completed.

Thank you for everything, PH-PBA, and to all your dedicated volunteers!
